Course Description:
PostGIS is a spatial extension to the PostgreSQL object-relational database, which enables PostgreSQL to be used as a database for geographic information systems. PostGIS is a core component of the OpenGeo Suite.
This full day course will introduce attendees to PostGIS. Attendees will learn about and create spatial databases,
load data from a variety of sources into a spatial database, and perform
queries against the data. Basic SQL
syntax will be covered.

Who should attend:
Anyone interested in spatial databases and web mapping is encouraged to attend, but familiarity with
basic GIS concepts and using the command line is suggested.
